what to do
1. Loosen tight clothing.
2. Move people away from him so the patient gets plenty of air to breathe.
3. Move away objects that could cause injury.
4. If phlegm accumulates in the throat, clear it.
5. Fold a clean cloth or napkin between the teeth to prevent him from biting his tongue.
6. If the patient vomits or has blood or pus coming out of the mouth, turn the patient's head to one side so it doesn't get stuck in the throat.
7. Do not allow the patient to eat or drink anything during a seizure or if the patient is unconscious.
8. Treat the cause. For example, if you have a high fever, wash your head with cold water and wipe your body with a towel soaked in ice water. Soak a few pieces of cloth in cold water and apply on the patient's forehead, hands and feet. Keep airing the pieces of cloth to keep them cool.
10. If the convulsions do not stop or the patient does not regain consciousness, call an ambulance.
